New one-trip containers.

Built overseas and shipped to the U.S. one time with a single load of cargo. Straight walls, clean floors, fresh paint. These are the units sitting on our lot, and the ones you'll want if the container is going to be seen every day.

Used containers.

Retired from ocean freight. Expect some dents, faded paint, and surface wear, but you still get heavy steel, lockable doors, and a hardwood floor for a lot less money. The smart buy for storage that just needs to work.

Used domestic containers.

Built for rail and truck freight here in North America. They run 8'6" wide instead of 8' and come in 45', 48', and 53' lengths, so you get the most floor space per dollar.

Specialty.

Flat racks for low-water crossings and equipment bridges on farms and ranches. Call for specs.

Standard vs. high cube vs. double door

Standard

8'6" tall outside. The most common and budget friendly.

High cube

9'6" tall outside, a full foot of extra headroom. Good for tall equipment, shelving, or shop conversions.

Double door

Doors on both ends, so you can load from either side or drive a mower straight through.

Open side

The full long side opens up. Easiest loading for pallets, equipment, or retail stock.

Two shipping containers on a gravel lot

Call the owner. Seriously.

When you call Shipping Containers Kansas, you're not getting a call center or a sales rep working off a script. You're getting Greg Huston, who owns the business with Terry Swearingen and knows every container on the lot. Ask him anything: sizes, condition, delivery, what'll work on your ground.

Frequently asked questions

What does one-trip mean?

The container made one trip across the ocean with a light load, then came off service. It's as close to brand new as containers get.

What condition are used containers in?

Used containers show cosmetic wear from years in freight service. Come look at what's on the lot, or call Greg and he'll tell you straight what we have.

Is delivery included?

No. Delivery is priced separately because it depends on distance and where the container is going.

Can you modify a container?

Modifications are available upon request. Tell us what you have in mind when you call.

Do I need a permit?

Some cities and counties have rules about placing containers. Check with your local planning or zoning office before delivery.
